Bodmer's Pottery, located in Buckeystown, Maryland, is home to Nancy Bodmer's clay studio and store.

She begins creating her special occasion handmade earthenware pottery plates, first on her potter’s wheel, when she turns the red clay into 7 or 10 inch plates. The unadorned clay dries until she personalizes each plate by her own hand. The plates are then fired to 1925° F for 12 hours.

Nancy began making plates in 1976 and today custom designs over 400 plates a year. Her plates are mostly used for display, but can enhance a birthday party or wedding when used for cake.
